I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE HARD WORK OF THE FITTERS...THEY ARE A CREDIT TO THE COMPANY AND VERY POLITE..I WILL RECCOMEND GAVIN&WRIGHT TO OTHERS.
Windows were installed as part of the job (along with cladding and a new roof), overall we were happy with the quality and installation of the windows. I would recommend FCD Ltd for windows.

The whole choice of doors, measurement and installation went very well and the people concerned were very polite and made a good job. We like our 2 doors very much and are pleased with the purchase.
Mr & Mrs Fearnley
I would never have believed that the whole area could have been left tidy. The fitters were courteous and obviously very professional. I would have no hesitation in recommending Norscot and may well have the need to use them again myself. Thank you for a great job

Good and efficient installation by guys who obviously take pride in their work. Neat and tidy professional finish. Kept well informed and all appointments kept.
I was very pleased that I had chosen Brunskills to do the work. From the initial visit there was no pressure to buy and the Liam made me feel at ease. I felt comfortable having the fitters in my home. The fitters were punctual and worked hard. When an error was discovered it was quickly and efficiently put right. I have already recommended the company to others.

What are casement windows?
A casement is the opening part of a window that is attached to its frame by one or more hinges at the side. They are used singly or in pairs within a common frame. Casement windows are hinged various different ways. They are generally made for openings in which the height is greater than the width. Other styles of window are available that work in totally different ways such Tilt and Turn and Fully Reversible.
Can I fit a new door to an existing uPVC porch?
There is no reason why you could not fit a UPVC door into an existing porch, but it will depend on the frame thickness and as it will need to be compatible with the design that you choose. Speak to your local installer for further advice.
Your new UPVC door and frame system typically come as a single unit, so the old door and its frame will need to be removed prior to fitting. If the porch was a single unit, this may cause problems, however your installer will be able to talk you through the whole process when they provide you with a quote.
Provide that the door you choose is the same size and shape as your previous one, there will not typically be any issue with fitting the replacement into the existing gap, and the frame can be secured to the porch frame in the same way as the previous door was attached.
As part of the survey process, your installer will tell you whether there are any potential issues with the existing porch that might affect the new door - for example if the frame is very old and requires attention.
What are sash windows?
Sash style windows are a traditional window design where the opening part of the window slides vertically to provide ventilation and fresh air into your rooms. They can be made in a variety of different styles and are common on older houses and when people want to capture a specific look for their home.
Sash windows are a popular choice as they offer a clean interior and exterior look for your home, with less of the locking mechanism visible around the frame.
A FlushSash casement window fits true to its frame to give a beautiful flush appearance. The sash closes level into the outer frame, so it sits in line, rather than protruding from the exterior brickwork of your home like traditional Sash Windows. The result is a clean, modern, and stylish appearance.
What are the Benefits of uPVC Windows?
There are a number of ways in which uPVC windows can benefit you and your home. Firstly, uPVC windows are low maintenance. The window frames don’t need painting or sealing which significantly reduces the maintenance required over their lifetime, uPVC windows are easily cleaned with soapy water. A key benefit of uPVC windows is that they don’t rot and are resistant to corrosion, this makes uPVC windows extremely long lasting. Unlike metals, uPVC is non-conductive, so your window frames will not transfer heat and contribute to a more consistent internal temperature for your home. Combining uPVC window frames and double glazing makes for highly energy efficient windows. uPVC windows provide excellent acoustic insulation. Double glazed uPVC windows can cut down noise by as much as 70%. Thanks to their integrated locking systems, uPVC windows provide a high level of security for your home. Most uPVC window locking systems lock at multiple points all around the sash and frame. Compared to aluminium and timber alternatives, uPVC windows are low cost. Prices can vary depending on the quality and features of the windows, but you can expect a much more affordable price by choosing a uPVC window.
Can I use a conservatory all year round?
Yes, a modern conservatory with a UPVC frame offers excellent insulation against cold winter days, meaning that you can use it as a complement to your living space all year round.
Older conservatories had a reputation for being cold and draughty in the winter and getting too hot to use in the summer without the doors adn windows being open, but this no longer needs to be the case.
Modern UPVC framed conservatories offer excellent thermal efficiency without the ability for draughts to get in through any gaps, and with double glazed windows, heat loss is minimal meaning that you can enjoy the view from your conservatory on the coldest days.
Controlling heat during the hot summer months is also possible in a modern conservatory. Your installer will be able to advise about different types of glass that can be more heat reflective and prevent the space from overheating. Good ventilation through a variety of window options in the conservatory also help to manage heat properly on warmer days and make your conservatory an enjoyable place to be during the summer.
How secure is a conservatory?
Even without any added security measures, a quality modern conservatory, is already quite secure. With tough double-glazed windows, window locks and secure external doors with multi-point locking systems, the conservatory should be as secure as the rest of your home. Door, window and movement sensors can be fitted to a conservatory as part of your wider alarm system to provide extra protection for your property.
